Moose 3D®'s Terms & Conditions

Version 2.4 - Updated 4th February 2026

Table Of Contents

Welcome to Moose 3D®

We welcome you to the Moose 3D® website, moose3d.co.uk (the “Moose 3D® Website” or “Website”). The Website has been designed, built and is managed by Maximilian Barrett, (collectively, “Moose 3D®”, “we”, “us” or “our”) located at 39 Kingshurst Road, Northfield, Birmingham, B31 2LN, West Midlands, England.

Your access to and use of the Website and the Services are subject to the following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions").

1. Your Consent

By using the Moose 3D® website and purchasing a 3D printing service, you acknowledge to have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, you should not use Moose 3D® Services and Website.

2. Modifications

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice, by posting any such revised version of these Terms and Conditions behind the link marked "Terms and Conditions of Use" at the bottom of each page of this Website. Your continued use of the Website after we have posted the revised Terms and Conditions constitutes your agreement to be bound by the revised Terms and Conditions.

3. 3D Printing Services

  • Moose 3D®'s 3D Printing Services are provided through the website and over email (contact form).

  • Through the website you can obtain information about our services, request a quotation, place orders for products and receive such other services as we may offer from time to time (collectively the “Services”).

  • Moose 3D® uses 3d Printing software for its automatic uploading system that will check and price up customer 3D models.

  • The 3D design (or ‘3D file’ or ‘3D model’) can be uploaded to our website, viewed in 3D, checked for errors, quoted for printing in a range of materials and ordered from us to be printed. Information and technical data sheets for the materials and manufacturing technologies can be found on the filaments pages on our website.

  • Unless stated differently during the checkout process, all costs will be billed and collected by Moose 3D®.

  • If your model is not printable or has features that may lead to unsatisfactory results of the printing process, we will contact you and advise the changes that need to be made. If changes are not possible, a refund can be given providing that printing has not commenced. We use paid software provided by WP3DPrinting that checks your model for print-ability (‘health check’) and repairs it automatically. Models that do not pass the health check for 3D printing will require an inspection by Moose 3D®. We might – but not necessarily will – be able to fix your model or make modifications that will allow it to be printed.

  • Moose 3D® does not offer file fixing services and may require the original link to the file if downloaded from Thingiverse, Cults3D etc.

  • Custom design files with errors, increases the risks related to the potential non/limited-processing of your model and the limits of the 3D printing technology, which might lead to unsatisfactory results of the 3D-print process.

  • A model that successfully passes our checks for printing, either before or after having been automatically repaired, might still be non-printable. We run routine checks on all models and will advise you, but we shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or costs incurred if the model has features that are outside the guidelines stated on our the Moose 3D® website.

4. Customer-Supplied Files

By uploading a file for quotation or manufacture, the customer confirms that:

  • They own, or have permission to use, the uploaded file.
  • The uploaded file is the correct revision intended for manufacture.
  • All dimensions, tolerances, clearances, hole sizes, thread sizes, wall thicknesses and functional features have been checked and approved before submission.
  • The design is suitable for additive manufacturing and fit for its intended purpose.

Moose 3D provides a 3D printing manufacturing service only. Unless expressly agreed in writing, Moose 3D does not provide design verification, engineering review, CAD validation, tolerance analysis or fit/function testing of customer-supplied files.

Uploaded files are printed substantially as supplied. Moose 3D does not routinely inspect or verify the dimensional accuracy, engineering intent or functionality of customer-supplied designs.

Dimensional Accuracy

All manufactured parts are produced using commercially reasonable processes and are subject to the normal characteristics and tolerances of FDM 3D printing.

Where dimensional accuracy is critical, customers must specify any required tolerances before manufacture.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Moose 3D does not guarantee engineering tolerances beyond those reasonably achievable by the selected manufacturing process.

Customer Responsibility

Customers remain solely responsible for:

  • ensuring the uploaded model is correct;
  • verifying that holes, threads, mating surfaces and clearances are suitable;
  • confirming that the design will assemble and function as intended;
  • selecting an appropriate manufacturing process and material for the application.

Moose 3D shall not be liable for redesign costs, assembly issues or functional problems arising from errors or omissions contained within customer-supplied files.

Inspection Before Manufacture

Moose 3D may perform a basic visual inspection to determine whether a file appears printable. This inspection is solely to identify obvious manufacturing issues and must not be interpreted as an engineering, dimensional or design approval.

Acceptance of Risk

By placing an order for customer-supplied files, the customer acknowledges that Moose 3D's responsibility is limited to manufacturing the supplied digital model. Responsibility for the design, dimensions, tolerances, fit and functionality remains with the customer.

5. Get an Instant Quote

  • To order a 3D print of a 3D model or receive a quote, you must have a 3D file. Whilst we accept many different 3D file formats the file extension .stl is preferable. If you have multiple parts, please export each part as an individual STL file, multipart STL files will cost more. You start by uploading the 3D file(s) to the instant quote tool on our website or send us the file(s) via email, either as an attachment or through the contact form on our website.

  • Using the instant quote tool, you can select dimensions, reduce or increase the size specifications for each part you wish to order. These include the quantity and material. If you have emailed the file to us we may ask for more information about the parts before selecting the printing specifications for you.

  • After all of your parts have printing specifications, we ask that you provide us with information we need for the delivery of the model. Please be informed that the language to be used during the whole ordering process is English. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

STL File Retention Policy

  • Uploaded STL files are stored securely for 30 days following a successful order, after which they will be automatically deleted unless the customer contacts Moose 3D® in advance to request file retention for future use.
  • Files uploaded without a corresponding order (e.g. test uploads or unconfirmed quotes) will be deleted immediately to maintain data security and server efficiency.

6. Unacceptable orders, cancellation of orders by us

  • There may be technical or other reasons why we cannot accept or must cancel your order during the entire ordering process, even after our acceptance of your order. (Such reasons can be for example but not limited to the infeasibility of the model, the features of your model, the destination of the delivery you indicated in your order etc.)

  • In case we cancel your order Moose 3D® will contact you via email.

Customer Conduct

  • I aim to provide a friendly, professional, and helpful service. All customers are expected to communicate in a polite and respectful manner.

  • Any aggressive, abusive, threatening, or unreasonable behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in an order being cancelled and refunded, at my discretion.

  • This applies to all forms of communication, including email, messaging platforms, and social media.
  • Any functioning weapon or parts from weapons will not be printed. Any parts for weapons concealed or disguised as other parts in an attempt to bypass this rule will remain the responsibility of the person(s) who upload the files and they will be held liable for any legal actions as a result of the printing. Any parts deemed to be of an extreme offensive nature will not be printed.

  • Cat flap covers are made to order. The standard production turnaround time is 3–5 business days, excluding weekends and UK public holidays.

  • This timeframe refers to production only and does not include delivery time, which is additional and dependent on the shipping method selected at checkout.

  • Turnaround times are provided as an estimate, not a guarantee, and may vary during periods of high demand, material availability issues, or unforeseen circumstances.

  • Once production has begun, orders cannot be cancelled or amended.

8. Pricing

  • The prices displayed are based on pricing scheme of the Turnaround time you choose and are valid only for the moment that they are displayed.

10. 3D Scanning Services

  • Moose 3D® provides 3D scanning services to create digital scan data from physical objects supplied by the customer.

  • 3D scanning may be used to help produce files suitable for:
    • 3D printing.
    • STL mesh output.
    • Digital reference models.
    • Reverse engineering support.
    • Part replication, where technically possible.

  • All 3D scanning work is subject to assessment before acceptance. Moose 3D® reserves the right to decline any item where:

    • The object is too large, fragile, reflective, transparent, complex, or unsuitable for scanning.
    • The scan is unlikely to produce an accurate or usable result.
    • The item may infringe intellectual property rights.
    • The item falls within our prohibited items policy.

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to provide the item for scanning and to use any resulting digital files.

  • 3D scanning accuracy may vary depending on the object’s size, shape, material, colour, surface finish, and level of detail. Highly reflective, transparent, very dark, flexible, or worn surfaces may require preparation or may not scan successfully.

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, 3D scanning does not include full CAD redesign, parametric modelling, engineering drawings, or guaranteed dimensional reproduction.

  • Any digital files supplied by Moose 3D® remain subject to the agreed scope of work. Files are provided for the customer’s agreed use only and must not be resold, redistributed, or used for commercial reproduction unless permission has been given in writing.

  • By commissioning 3D scanning work, you agree to provide accurate information, supply suitable reference images or measurements where requested, and accept that some parts may require manual clean-up, file preparation, or additional work before they are suitable for 3D printing.

  • The current version of the 3D Scanning Service information is available at: 3D Scanning page.

11. Acceptance

  • After sending your order, we will send you an order confirmation to the email address with which you signed-in or supplied with the upload. The order confirmation will be effective as of the date on which the order confirmation is sent to you.

12. Amendments to Order including Adding files/Changing files

  • After the acceptance and payment of the order, there can be no changes to the files or processes. If the file has not already been printed (you have not received an email notification "3D Printing has started", then any changes required are done FREE OF CHARGE.

13. Lead Times on Custom Uploads

  • Lead times are only estimates and are NOT IN ANY WAY guaranteed.

  • Infrequent and unpredictable factors like machine failure, power cuts and acts of God may cause orders to be delayed by a number of days. If large orders take significantly longer than expected, a partial refund may be given, but no full refunds are given.

  • If you are on a deadline, it is strongly advised that you email us prior to placing a custom 3D print order.

14. Shipping

  • Your order will be delivered to your billing address unless a different address has been provided in the shipping section.

  • We are not liable for incorrect shipping addresses, and no refunds are given if an incorrect shipping address has been provided.

  • All packages are padded with bubble wrap and sent out in a protected box. You can decide on which service is used via Royal Mail.

  • We are not liable for any damage or cost caused by delay in shipping or delivery.

  • Change of shipping address is permitted and will not affect the order of the 3D print queue.
  • Selecting Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Royal Mail Tracked 48 relates to the delivery service only and does not affect production time or order priority.

Orders are produced in the order they are received, in line with the stated production turnaround times. Choosing a faster shipping method does not mean an order will be prioritised, expedited, or produced sooner unless this has been explicitly agreed in writing prior to ordering.

15. Cancellation of your order, return of models - applies to Customer uploaded models ("Non-Refundable")

  • Due to the nature of our Services, you cannot cancel your order after it goes into production. Shop orders are still cancellable, however note that a refund or cancellation will not apply to items in the order that are "non-refundable".

  • Moose 3D manufactures customer-supplied digital models substantially as provided. Responsibility for the design, dimensions, tolerances, clearances, fit, function and engineering suitability of the supplied model remains entirely with the customer. Moose 3D accepts no liability for defects, incompatibilities or functional issues arising from the content of customer-supplied files, provided the manufactured part substantially reflects the supplied digital model.

16. Minimum Guaranteed Thickness

  • Parts are guaranteed to a minimum wall thickness of 2 mm. We will print things thinner than 2 mm, but it is at your own risk. If these break in our hands, your hands, during delivery, or lost during the cleaning process, it will not be covered or re printed for free.

  • Although, we do our best to check over every single model for printing, sometimes thinner parts can be missed, Moose 3D® is not held responsible if the parts are missed and printed anyway which results in a failed or broken part.

17. Post-Processing of 3D Printed Parts*

  • Post-processing of 3D printed parts is limited to sanding only. However, due to our highly optimised print settings, sanding is usually not required and may not always be included. It will be your responsibility to prime and paint parts if required.

  • We have provided a page dedicated to Post-Processing 3D Printed Parts and it includes links to YouTube videos for each stage of the post-processing.

18. Use of 3rd Party Companies - Subcontracting

  • In certain circumstances it may be necessary for Moose 3D® to use a 3rd party company to design custom orders or certain aspects of a job. e.g. finishing work.

  • Moose 3D® can not be held responsible if there are any problems or longer lead times caused by using this 3rd party.

  • Although we mention in these terms and conditions that we do not offer a post-process service apart from sanding*, our clients may request us to seek alternative support in print finishing 3d Printed Parts.

  • Orders may be delivered directly from a subcontractor of Moose 3D® to you and not via or through Moose 3D®. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you inspect the parts upon delivery and inform Moose 3D® in case of any discrepancies.

19. Delays to Order

  • In some very rare circumstances there may be a delay to your order, in these circumstances there may be a variety of reasons which include, but are not limited to; failure of Quality Control due to discolouration or damage, machine failure, power cuts and ‘Acts of God’.

  • If one or more of these issues do arise, we will re-print the affected files, but this may cause a delay to the order while we await the reprints.

  • As these problems are always unforeseen, Moose 3D® accepts no responsibility for missed deadlines and is under no obligation to offer a refund or any form of compensation.

20. Warranty

  • As Moose 3D® is independent from the design of the part, Moose 3D® offers NO warranty on any parts and does not insure against design in any way.

  • Though 3D printing is an excellent and cost effective way to manufacture low volume and one off items, the quality and price are unlikely to match those of mass produced items.

  • Misunderstanding of strength, surface finish and cost are not grounds for a refund in any case.

  • This warranty should be read in conjunction with Section 4 (Customer-Supplied Files).

Moose 3D® makes no warranty other than those made expressly in this Terms and Conditions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moose 3D® hereby expressly disclaims any representations or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for any particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some states or countries do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
